Christmas Eve at In-Laws

We had a great time at in- laws. Our girls got the great presents from everyone in the family. They were so excited especially the coolest lunch boxes that my niece Teffny gave Tori and Tiara! They always bring their lunch boxes to school everyday. Here is the old lunch boxes that I got for them from Dallas that I went to shopping with Trudy and Rhonda at the World Biggest Flea (I couldn't remember) It has been about 4 or 5 years ago! This is the BEST Christmas we've ever had! But sad that Trent is not here with us. We have his presents and hold until he gets home to open the presents! I will take pictures! Hope you had a great Christmas Eve!

Girls' Day

Today is Saturday...Finally, we're staying home with NO plans! We decided to stay in to work around the house. The girls had chores! Tori's chores was to clean her room, put up all laundry and run the sweeper around the house. Tiara's chores was to clean her room, cat litters and bathroom. My chores was clean my bedroom, living room and the kitchen. Then Tiara helped me to bake puppy chow (muddy buddies)for women's tea party tomorrow. Then Tori will make another puppy chow for us tonight snack! YUMMY! The girls were real good helpers! Thank you, Tori and Tiara for helping me today!

I cooked soft taco for dinner. While I was cooking dinner, Scott texted me and said that he was leaving Lubbock to meet me at Youth center to visit our son Trent!

Scott and I always look forward seeing Trent.

Have a blessed day!

Red Ribbon Week!!

This is a Red Ribbon week at Bushland...we are dedicating this week to Trent. You know in the past Red Ribbon week was just fun activies at school, wearing different clothes each day and teachers' would teach something about drugs everyday...like "just say no to drugs."

Been involved with this special week for years until it hits home. The bottom fell out.

It became peronsal.

It became my family's mission.

Speaking from experience, drugs destroys lives.

Each day during the Red Ribbon Week, made us to think about our brother and son.

Red Day - wear red shirt stating that "we want to stop drugs"

Each day, the girls wore something different - crazy hair day, college day, spirit day, and backwards day.

Trent, this week has been dedicated to you. We love you and we know that you're getting so much better.

Dos Ninas de Mis Hijas

That's right...dos ninas de mis hijas.

Two girls, my daughters.

Can't imagine having two girls! Never in my dreams would I have dos ninas!

Aren't they GREAT! They know how to spice up my life. Boy, do they know!

Heard that raising girls were much harder than boys.

'Tis true, 'tis true. Two lil drama queens...hey, hey, just kidding.

They are my queens and I am proud of them.

Dos ninas de mis hijas are Tori and Tiara...along with Trent...they are gifts from God.

Their names means something...a reminder of who Jesus Christ is.

Tori is short for VicTORIa...which means victory.

Tiara means crown. Her middle name is Grace...we are crowned by the grace of God.

Seeing dos ninas everyday reminds me that "I have an absolute victory in Christ who crowns us by the grace of God."

Amazing how God provided us with names for my children. It's wonderful.

Tori and Tiara...I love both of you so much!! Thank you for spicing up my life.

Dad

PS...by the way, the name Trent comes from torrent.
His name means "river of blessing."

How about that!

6:33

Is it 6:33 am? Or is it 6:33 pm?

It's neither.

It's God's way of reminding me to seek him when I starting to slip away from seeking God.

'Tis a wunnerful way to communicate with me.

I see sign posts, bulletin boards, addresses or anything with numbers - 6:33 on it.

I see it every where.

Especially on my watch...6:33 am and 6:33 pm.

So what is 6:33?

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

Matthew 6:33

God's Plan for Our Lives...Trust, Delight, Commit

One of the most asked question is "How do we know what God's plan for our lives?"

Been asked that question zillions of times. It's probably one of the most popular question asked by young men and women that I work with.

Not easy to answer.

I'm going to let the scripture to speak for itself.

'Tis the best way.

Jeremiah 29:11 - 'For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.'

Do you honestly believe that God has plans for your life? Are you willing to stake your trust into His plans for your life?

Yes, a simple child-like trust in God's plans.

Proverbs 3:5 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart..."

You see...it's simple.

Just trust the Lord with all your heart.

All is the key word. Trust the Lord with ALL of your heart. That means 100% of your heart. There is not one ounce of doubting or holding back

You just trust God 100%!

"But what if I don't like God's plan for my life?"

Believe me, God knows you and your desires. He will not make you to do what you don't desire to do. When He ask you to do something, He will put a strong burning desire in your heart.

Oh, yes! Seen it many times.

Experienced it many times myself...love it every time!

Even if God askes you to do something you don't want do, you will want to do it because you have the burning desire to please God.

Psalms 37:3, 4, 5 - "Trust in the Lord and do good...Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him and He will do it."

Delighting yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

What a beautiful promise.

Understand this - God does not break his promise.

It's simple...we delight ourselves in Him...He will give us the desires or our hearts.

So...

First, trust in the Lord.
Second, delight in the Lord.

Lastly, commit your way to the Lord.

Live your life as if you're pleasing God everyday. Commit your works to the Lord!

Prov. 16:3 - "Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established."

Yes, roll your burdens to the Lord.

Yes, all God wants us to do is to TRUST, DELIGHT, and COMMIT ourselves to Him.

Then, you'll see His plans for your life clear as sunshine.

Sprite!

You know what...we have been a Coke, Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper family! Occassionally, we'll have a Pespi if Coke isn't available.

But we are die hard "Coke Family"...until yesterday.

Trent said, "You know how I used to be crazy about Dr. Pepper? Oh well, I don't much like it any more...I love SPRITE!"

Scott and I looked at each other and mouthed the word, "Sprite". We laughed about it.

Trent thought that Sprite was for sick people. When he was little, he would ask people, "What are you drinking?"

"Sprite"

"Are you sick?"

Because when Trent or the girls get sick, we always get them Sprite. So Trent assumes when a person drinks Sprite, he must be sick.

Now, Trent drinks Sprite simply because he loves it!

Scott asked him, "Are you sick?"

We all laughed about it.

"Nah, just love the taste and the feeling when it goes down...burns so good."

Sprite is back!

Amazing Number...263 Days

Saturdays are my favorite days! I would rather for everyday to be a Saturday.

Here's the reason why I love Saturdays...Trent.

Scott and I drive up to the Youth Center and visit with Trent.

We only get 30 minutes with him. That's all. That's 4 Saturdays a month and we only visit with him 2 hours each month. Yep...120 minutes.

And it goes by FAST!

When we visit, we have a great time. Talk about EVERYTHING in 30 minutes.

Today, Trent's exciting. He said, "I have a couple of months left to go home!"

That's right, son!

"You know what? I've been sober for 263 days. That's aweseome."

It is something to celebrate for. Soberiety for 263 days is an accomplishment for Trent. He said that it feels great to accomplish this and will continue to so.

Can't wait for next Saturday.

And Neenee and PawPaw will go with us.

Trent loves it when his grandparents come and visit him.

Homecoming

Wow! This has been one of the most exciting week that I've experience in a long time. This is Bushland Homecoming Week. It's a crazy out there in the Falcon world! Families and friends come together and make this week special. Each class at the high school decorated all the hallways...not just few decorations here and there. I mean wall to wall decorations. One wing had a large tornado made out of trash bags and the other hall had a large falcon's head facing out from the door. It was so much fun. Next year, I'm going to get involved with this because Scott is the next year's class sponsor (Tori's class). I LOVE MAKING MUMS! I spend all week making them. I made three of them...one for Tori, Tiara and Trent. OF COURSE, I'M NOT GOING TO LEAVE TRENT OUT. So I made him one with his name on it and I wore it to the game. Tori and Tiara wore theirs to school all day. It was an amazing sight seeing elementary and Jr High kids wearing mums. It wasn't a homecoming just for the high school but the ENTIRE school and the ENTIRE COMMUNITY. Anyways, I proudly wore Trent's mum!! It made me felt close to him. Trent's mum will be in his room when he gets home. I can't wait to show it to him. Tori and Tiara were very proud of their nums. Tori and a group of girls had a homecoming party at a girl's house. She had a lot of fun. It was packed at the Falcon Stadium. I've never seen so many people filling in a 2A stadium. Neenee and Papa were there. Scott loves to see his mom and dad at the games. They've been his biggest fan ever since he was little. They've truly supported him in everything he did. Scott always look down from the press box where he sits right above me and look for Neenee and Papa to wave at them. The Falcons beat Floydada pretty bad. The band and homecoming ceremony was beautiful.

Can't wait for next year's homecoming!

Ann's Birthday!

The entire family celebrated Ann's birthday at Johnny Carino's! The food was GREAT!! I didn't know that family meal in the menu costs about the average $25 and on Mondays, it's half price! So the family menu costed me $12.50. We ordered 2 plates and still, we had a bunch of food left over!!!! We have enough left over to last a week! We had good time visiting with everyone! Even Landree and Tater Pater had a great time!!!!!

HAPPY 47th BIRTHDAY, ANN!!!!

Dinner with my mom and sisters

The girls and I went to eat with my mom and my sisters at my mom's place. Inspite of everyone's busy schedule, we all came together at the same time and visited for about an hour. I enjoyed visiting with my family. Then the girls and I went to "eat" at Johnny Carinos with Scott's family. It's a miracle to visit both familys in one day. Scott couldn't make it to my mom's because he didn't get off work on time.

By the way, the lady in the shades is my sister, Misty. Wearing sun glasses is making her looking like a star. In reality, she didn't have any make up on!!!!! Gotcha, Misty!!!!

Trent's Surprise

After Tiara's game, Scott and I went to see Trent at the Youth Center. We always look forward seeing Trent on Saturdays. We cherish our time with Trent and time always goes by fast when we visit him. Today, Trent got 45 minute visitation and we savored it!

Trent came in sweating...he just got through playing volleyball. He's getting good at it...perhaps, he'll go pro! We talked for a while and then he told us about his surprise. When he made it to Phase 3, Trent got rewarded with food from any restaurant. And he chosen La Fiesta!!! He ordered a large bag of tortilla chips, large bowl of hot sauce and chicken quesodillas with sour cream on top of it.

And Trent said, "It was the best dinner that I've had in a long time!"

Way to go, Trent, you deserved it!!!!!

On her way to Stardom

Today was a big day for Tiara! She played in her first "Fall Ball" in fastpitch softball. She got up early this morning...pumped up for her game. She found her cliche...fastpitch softball. Her number is 40. That's her dad's football number when he was in high school. She plays for Mirage and her uniform is real cool! She plays with half Bushland and half Amarillo High players. We want Tiara to play with Bushland players for the next 5 years so she can get better with her teammates. Her team won the first game 19 - 1. They have a great pitcher who threw a no hitter for 3 innings and left the game. I was shocked to see how good she was. Tiara played left field. Neenee and PawPaw had a great time with us. Scott told me that Pawpaw was one of the best catchers when he played fastpitch back in the days. Tiara is carrying on the tradition!

Scott's Big Game

Scott is starting his career as a football at Bushland High School. We've been married for 20 years and been through basketball state tournament 6 consecutive years and baseball 4 times. In both Basketball and Baseball, he was named Texas Coach of the Year. And then, in wrestling...he has won 13 State Wrestling Titles with 6 consecutive UIL State Champions. Scott has been named Texas Wrestling Coach of the Year 6 times and has been inducted to both State and National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

I know, I know, I know...I still feel "awe" of my husband. I am extremely proud of him. I am proud to be "Coach Tank's wife" and I love the feeling that goes with it. He is my life and he is my everything.

One thing I admire Scott is his determination to set and achieve new goals. He wanted to be a football coach and prayed about it. God has answered his prayers and send him to west to Bushland. He loves his job and the people he works with. He has one regret...he waited too long to become a football coach.

What about the coach's wife? Me...Oh, I love Scott's new job!!! Let me tell you why. The people at Bushland has gone the extra mile to learn sign language so they can communicate with me. They made me feel that I belong there. I have made so many friends and so did Tori and Tiara. The coaches' wives are very supportive of each other.

Here's a picture of Scott working in the press box. He studies the opponent's offensive/defensive schemes (whatever that means). He is the offensive Coordinator for both 7th and 8th grade football team and he will call his first game on Sept 10th against Highland Park. Good luck, Coach Tank, on your first start!!!!

~Angie

Trent's Status

WE GOT SOME GOOD NEWS!! On Friday, Sept. 4th, Scott and I went to the Youth Center to see Trent and his counslors for a case review. He has been promoted to Phase 3. We are exciting about it. That means he's 2 step closer to freedom! Trent has to work through phase 2 and phase 1 and then he'll be able to get out. Please pray that he'll work hard to fulfill his phases. We would love to see him out by January, or February at the latest. During his case review, he has improved in many areas of his life. Due to the seriousness of the situation, we have to remain confidential about it. I wish that I could share what went on but we prefer to keep within the family.

After the meeting, I asked them if we could take pictures of Trent and see how great he looks. Trent took us to his dorm room and showed how tidy his room is! He was extremely proud of his room. Books stacked perfectly, bed made up so tight that you can bounce a quarter on it, and he has a window view. He also has ping pong table, foosball, and guitar in the living room. Scott said that Trent is so mature now that he was before. He said that you can tell the way he talks...he has confidence in himself. Trent even said that he misses Tori and Tiara so much. He realized that they look up to him. He said that he can't wait to get out and be a family again.

Trent, we are still a family. We talk about you everyday, especially Dad. He misses you more than anything. You may not realize this but Dad really wants you home more than anything. So does Tori, Tiara, Neenee, PawPaw, Miki, Baby, myself and everyone else. We are pulling for you and we thank God for saving your life. Son, I love you.

Mom

PS: We got to see Trent again on Saturday, Sept. 5th. We had a great time visiting with each other. Trent was very talkative and he laughed the hardest when Scott told him that Neenee started to get involved with Facebook. He couldn't believe it. He thought it was cool to have his granny on Facebook. Trent's main concern was how he affected all of us with his lifestyle. He is very concerned how his involvement with drugs and alcohol has affected his sisters. He mentioned about going to al-teen and Al-non, organizations which helps family members who have been victimized by drugs and alcohol. Scott and I are going to check it out because it will help all of us.

Major Changes!!!!!

August 2009 is probably the busiest month I've ever experienced! You know people talk about 'mid-life crisis'? Well, I've experienced "August Crisis" and believe me...it was full of crisis!!!! With Scott starting his new job and me quitting my job at Wal Mart is something else! I loved working at Wal Mart and I missed my friends there but there are things I needed to do at home. We got new carpet put in the entire house! Before the carpet came, Tori, Tiara and friends of the family painted the living room, installed a new screen door, new bathroom door and replaced the ceiling fans in the kitchen. I know it sounded like a major overhaul but it was! I couldn't have done all these if I still work at Wal Mart. It was a much needed work and it took about a week and half. We couldn't get all these done if it wasn't for our friends from church. To you all who helped us...thank you so much, especially Courtney for her nice surprising gifts!!!! Special thanks to Brad and Teffney and Neenee/Papa for their gifts for the house!

Please check the pictures of our crisis that became a blessing!

First Day of School 2009

What a day! This is a big day for all of us! Trent is starting his senior year with Canyon High School at the Youth Center. He's real exciting about being a senior and he plans to graduade at Bushland High School in 2010. He's taking Government, Economics, Algebra II and English 4. He will also take Speech and ASL II in second semester. I thank God everyday for Trent's opportunity at the Youth Center to get his Education. Not only in academics, but in life.

It is also the first day for Tiara and Tori to go to Bushland Middle School. Sure, they were both nervous...being a new student at a new school! Change is a hard thing and I pray for Tori and Tiara to adapt to a new environment and make new friends. We drove to Bushland and we were shocked to see how many parents came to the first day pep rally at Bushland Middle school. Tori was impressed with the parental support and said, "I've never seen so many parents in a school!" Having a pep rally for the first day of school is a great way to start the year!

Of course, what about "Coach Tank" being a Falcon? He loves it! He can't wait to coach the Middle school football team. He's been with the varsity coaches and players since the first week of August. He's looking forward being ASL II teacher and create a atomsphere of "deaf world" in his classroom.

Trent's 17 TODAY!

Scott here...time flew by...Trent is 17 years old today. I can't imagine my son turned 17 today. It was yesterday when I remembered his birth at Northwest Hospital. I shall never forget the moment when he was born. My mother (NeeNee) was also in the hospital at the same time. Sunday morning at 8:40, my lil man came out in to the world! You know...it was the happiest moment of my life. In the recent months before Trent was born, I've been working with Angie's speech. She's pretty self conscious with her speech and she won't talk in a room full of strangers. But I shall never forget that morning when Trent was born. After struggling all night with contractions and my feeble coaching - "Breath in, Breath out...baby, you can do it. Breath, Breath..."

"Shut up, Scott!!!"

"My bad!"

At 8:40, the little man came out! It was the most beautiful event I've ever witnessed. The nurse cleaned up Trent and handed him over to Angie...they wanted the mother to hold the baby first. Angie held him tightly, and then she held him up where she can see his face and said in a room full of strangers,

"I love you"

Everyone heard it. I saw it. There wasn't one dried eye in the room. Even the doctor had tears running down his face. The interpreter and the nurses were crying.

Just thinking about Trent and how much I love him makes me cry. I shall never forget the moment when Angie, verbally, said, "I love you."

God gave him a name. God told me in different ways to name him Trent. There was a friend who played baseball with me and his name was also Trent. There was a great basketball player who played for me on the AAU team by the name Trent. Finally, there was a man from out of town who came to Caprock on school business and he met Nee Nee. She asked him,

"What is your name?"

"Trent Tankersley"

It's amazing! God spoke to me loud and clearly. I've done some research on the meaning of Trent and it comes from the word torrent which means rapid waters. In several languages, it means, "Rivers of blessings".

Back to my mother being in the hospital. They put Angie on the same floor with my mother. Can you imagine when I wheeled Trent's carriage to NeeNee's room and when she held the baby, visitors walked by...gawking at an old lady having a baby!!! It was a funny sight! Trent would go back and forth to his mother's and grandmother's room. What a man!

Yesterday, Papa, NeeNee, Tiara and I went to see Trent at the Youth Center. This is where he lives until January. He's celebrating his birthday with his comrades at the center with a big cookie that the cooks made for him. Angie and I got him American Eagle shorts and Trent loved it. Tori and Tiara had send him a card in the mail. Trent said that he's ready to get out and go home. He has to work his way out by going through 4 phases of the SAIT program. I told him that we'll have a birthday party for him when he gets out and he was exciting about it. Even though, he's in rehab, he still brings blessings to all of us. God has a wonderful plan for him and He is using the rehab to shape him for His plans. Trent knows that. He said, "Dad, when I'm in prison, I am free. When I was out there in the free world, I was in prison in my own mind." Yes, son, in Jesus Christ - you are indeed free.

Watch each picture carefully, you'll see the 'river of blessings' coming toward you.

Happy Birthday to Trent!

Scott Tankersley

Hear Ice Cream Truck's Music

While I seeking pictures of Trent for the blog's slide show on his birthday...I'm doing Trent's slide show for Scott so he can post it exactly on August 9th which is Trent's Birthday (Scott doesn't know how to create a slide show, so I'm working on it before I leave for camp. I will be at L.I.F.E. Deaf Youth camp on Aug. 6th to 12th) Sadly, Tori and I not be able to celebrate his birthday this year! But he told us that the caferita staff are making a BIG cookie for his birthday! I am glad they are celebrating there! Scott, Neenee and Papa will see Trent and they have his AE shorts for his birtday.

While I was looking Trent's baby pictures, my heart melted. I have SOOOO many pictures of all 3 kids and it's hard to decide which ones to post. All of them are VERY cute! PRECIOUS MOMENTS!! There was a picture that I will never forget...Trent was 5 years old and he heard the ice cream truck coming down several blocks and he asked, "Can I get ice cream?"

I answered, "Sure, Yes you may. Please go and sit by window to watch when the truck is coming let me know, So I can walk down with you to get ice cream, OK?"
He said, "ok!" He went sit on floor and watch through window, waiting for the ice cream truck. Meanwhile, I was in kitchen, cooking. I realized that Trent hasn't come to me and it was a long while! I thought that I'd better go and check on Trent, wondering why he didn't come. I walked to living room. Ooohhh my heart melted... He fell asleep and missed the ice cream truck. So I took picture of him. When he woke up and said, "The ice cream truck never come by." And I explained what happened and how he fell asleep. Trent,I"m going to take you to Braum's after dinner." He said,"That's ok." I felt so bad for him that he was looking forward the ice cream truck then he fell asleep! He is SO cute and this is one my favoriate picture! Here is a picture.....

Scott's New Car

Today is a great day for Coach Tank (Scott, my husband - of course). God has answered his prayers. He's all prayed out for a car and today, the Lord answered his prayers. From my understanding, Scott HATES car shopping. He honestly believe that it's a waste of time. So he asked his Father in prayer to car shop for him. He just wanted a 4 door and 4 wheels that saves gas while driving. This morning, I was called to work to sign some overtime papers and I asked Scott to ride with me. Tiara went with us. Around 9 am, Scott said, "I want to go over Bobby Duby's and talk to Josh (Not Josh Bonjour lol) about a car. He always gets me the PERFECT car for me." As a matter of fact, Josh sold every vehicle that we owned in the past 15 years...as Scott said in coaching terminology, "Josh is batting a thousand!" It means that every car that Josh picked out, Scott bought it. So, we drove over to the car lot and saw Josh at the parking lot. Scott and Josh had a conversation about cars so Josh said, "Let me look around to see if we have the perfect car for you." We walked around, checking out cars...Mustang, Infinity, Mustang, Toyata, Mustang, Nissan, Mustang...hey Scott, quit going back to the Mustangs! Then Josh stood in front of KIA Optima and said, "She's crying out for you!!" Scott, Tiara and I went over to check it out. It is beautiful! Scott fell in love with it and Tiara loved it too! The color is metalic blue with gray interior. It drives SMOOTH and it purrs like a cat. I didn't realized that it was fast and furious!!! We took it to NeeNee and Papa's house. Tori came over and she said that she loved it so much. Papa said that it was the perfect car for Scott. Praise the Lord! Here is a picture of his car.....

Even you see that color of the car BLUE makes me sick because I am wearing blue shirts to work EVERYDAY! Can you imagine! LOL....JJK.....But I liked his new car even he's letting me drive! He's sweet! :)

Tiara's 10th Birthday!

What a day! Today is Tiara's 10th birthday. I can't imagine that my baby is growing up. It seemed that it was yesterday when I changed her diapers. Time flies! Today is special because we celebrated Tiara's Birthday on Sunday, the Lord's Day. I had to work today because we have to finish Wal Mart's inventory for the year and it is a long process. So I went to work early today and Scott took Tori and Tiara out for breakfast. Then they went to church. Tiara was exciting to hear "Happy Birthday" from her SS Teachers and her friends. After church, Scott took the girls to Tiara's favorite Mexican restaurant - El Patron. Michael, Courtney and Gus Mast ate their with them. Tiara thought it was cool having her friends eating with her. After a long day of waiting, Tiara couldn't wait for her party to start. Scott picked me up at work and we went to Shore's Swimming Pool to celebrate Tiara's Birthday. NeeNee and Papa brought some great pizzas. The whole family and friends had so much fun! Tiara is precious and our joy! Happy Birthday to you Tiara!
